Meet The Michigan Council for Psychoanalytic Psychology
Leveraging Integrated Technology to Improve the Member Experience
The Michigan Council for Psychoanalytic Psychology (MCPP) approached Dezignseed to help streamline the functionality of their membership website. MCPP’s previous website as nicely designed and functional, however, it was difficult to maintain because of highly technical nature of the way in which the website had been developed.
Dezignseed worked closely with MCPP to understand their needs, and determined that there was a strong need for the organization to host educational events and provide continuing education to their members. As we learned more, we suggested that MCPP migrate to the Wild Apricot Membership Management Platform, which would provide them with a fully integrated membership system, event system, and front-end website.
Too often, website developers build solutions that are highly technical and not streamlined in such a way that most organizations can maintain their own content and continue to function and grow over time without having to hire expensive technical expertise. The high expense of IT often prohibits nonprofit organizations from thriving.
Dezignseed’s approach is to leverage existing technology in such a way that it can be maintained by non-technical volunteers. Sure, there is sometimes a need to have technical expertise, but we believe in building solutions for clients that are easy to maintain and provide the organization with the ability to thrive and grow. It is also imperative to allow for turnover in volunteers and administrators who may be maintaining content.
As a result, MCPP has a new website that is integrated with their membership, ongoing events, and continuing education efforts. Once again, the MCPP team is both excited and thriving with their new technology solutions, and Dezignseed is thrilled to see this happen with our customers!
Scott was highly recommended to us by Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy who had been working with him for a while. He was delightful to work with and demonstrated patience when things became difficult. His explanations about the process and about how the new system would work were clear. He was willing to entertain our various ideas while realistic about the limitations of design within Wild Apricot. He was also able to work with our old system until we switched to Wild Apricot and provided a clear explanation about the difference between the two systems. ~Reena Liberman, MCPP Website Project Coordinator
